Led by Marianne Rothschild, The Crossing Machine joins forces with vocalist Debbi Arpini to celebrate the incredible catalogue of Country superstar Dolly Parton. Born from a conversation between two very different performers with a shared passion for the mastery of Dolly's songwriting and storytelling, this project strips away the boundaries between the chamber hall and the honky-tonk, reimagining the traditional string quartet as a vibrant musical canvas for Dolly’s most beloved stories. A tribute unlike any other seen in Australia, and quite possibly, the world.
We wanted to create an experience to elevate the typical tribute show. A sophisticated reimagining of Dolly’s iconic catalogue, blending Classical, Country, and Bluegrass into a novel auditory experience.
